Riding Western?

As an English person I haven't known how to do this, so I looked it up...I mean, if it comes untied mid-ride, "bye-bye" is the word.

Chaos!

Something broke in the harness and the lead pair of a hitch headed for the horizon. Note the poor guy who tripped over a manure spreader going after them.

No big deal. Let's hook them back up and carry on.

I Love...

...to see a horse enjoying his job.

The ground work in the second half is amazing too. This is a trainer helping horses prepare for the trail in a controlled environment.

Oh, and yes, the presence of a bridle is part time.

Crashing the party

Apparently this longear wanted to try dressage!

His cowboy is not amused.

Grace, Masterful Training...

Oops.

Won't embed - but you really should watch this. It's enough to convert anyone to draft horses.

I Just Love...

...Shetland pony races. So cute, so adorable, such great young riders...

...thud.

(I feel sorry for the one on the black who kept wanting to buck her off instead of running. Somebody check his saddle fit?)

Natural Disasters...

...affect horses too. This is from the serious flooding in Australia back in 2011. Horses are, fortunately, usually very good at getting themselves to higher ground.

Dang...

...what those big drafts can do.

This is how you turn a big hitch around in limited space.

Velcro Seat!

...I don't know how she actually stayed on. Yes, that was intentional, but doing that bareback? Quite the velcro seat there.

More Proof...

...that driving is dangerous.

This is a four-in-hand doing an obstacle - I believe, but can't be sure as the commentary is in German, that they're in a CDE marathon.

The carriage hits an obstacle and one of the worst possible things happens - the driver falls out of the cart. With no hand on the lines, the horses panic, chased by the uninjured driver...and head off down the course, across a road and apparently into the parking area. Most people have the sense to get out of their way.

That guy who stops them? Don't try that at home - I've seen somebody almost get killed trying to stop ONE horse that way, let alone a four, but he knew what he was doing.

Nobody hurt and the horses look fine too.

I can do anything!

Horse riding isn't a sport! The horse does all the work. Rar, I'm a marine!

...I got this...

Yeah. That, apparently, is what some people like to do to non-riders who insist it's easy. (I prefer to put them on a lazy old nag and then ask them the next day...)

Silly, Embarrassed Horse

Sometimes when you play in the snow...things happen.

Prance, prance, ooh, I'm going to roll in the snow...because that's what it's for, right?

Hrm, maybe a bit cold *bounce*. Let's try this bit of snow. No, not satisfactory. I really can't make...there.

Okay, how about I chase around bucking instead? That's fun, right? Bounce, BOUNCE. Rear. Rear. Roll...too cold...Eep!

Horses...

...have done all sorts of jobs for humans over the centuries.

But I didn't know they had ever been used as fishing platforms!

I assume this is fairly traditional in this part of Belgium - it doesn't look like something you'd invent recently - so now I'm quite curious as to how long this has been going on. Gorgeous drafts, too.
